Undersized

I wanted to do a gif that would be funny and thought of someone wearing a pair of trousers that kept falling down.  To get my brother to do the modelling for this, i had to cover up his face and thought of the film FRANK.

I then thought of using a paper bag and this way I could change his facial expressions.

As my brother is too small for the trousers, he is undersized and I liked the idea of having him undersized rather than the clothes.

Using 10 bags, I drew a smiley face and then made it turn into a sad one.  I also changed the eyes to give it more of a character.

To keep the jeans from falling down completely, I had to use string that was tied to the jean belt loops on either side of the jeans and had this piece of string go around my brothers neck. For every photo I had to loosen the string.

Because you could see the string in the last few photos, I removed the string with Photoshop using the 'spot healing brush tool'.  To see the string before I Photoshop it, look at the photograph to the left and you can see the string to the right of my brother.

Confused-Camo-Dress

We were asked to use the clothing we brought in and to style it and either draw or photograph our creations.  Harry and I took my mums Liberty print floral dress and instead of using a model, we hung the dress in varied places outside. A skip, a lorry, on a wall and many other such places.

I then took these images and selected ones to make a gif.  To try and make the photographs a bit more interesting I used an image of the print of the dress and with Photoshop I added the cloth to sections of my photo, where the dress was hanging. I initially was going to make the dress camouflage to blend in with the item it was hanging to, i.e. make the dress out of bark when it was hanging on a tree, but decided that doing it the other way round, promoted the print of the dress more, and was more interesting. I think it particularly worked well with the graffiti of the two boys, where I made one of the boys tops into a floral print.

The idea being that the object was itself, then when the dress appeared the object's surface changed as it became the print of the dress, then when the dress moved onto something else, the object went back to it's old self.

I really liked how the floral print worked with the birch trees, so made a photo with all the trees in Liberty print.
