shadows

As well as putting together my 'Street Finds' for collections, while photographing the flowers for the REJECTION project, I saw how impressive the shadows were.  Using the sun that cast shadows against a wall in my home, I photographed the shadows of the individual flowers.

I then put these together in two different styles using Photoshop.  The first was flowers grouped together as if growing out of the ground, I used the opacity to lighten the shadows and altered the angles.  I particularly liked this image as the flowers looked like they were growing together in a field and the wind was blowing them gently.  When in fact they were all photographed separately with no movement at all.

The other way was by laying the flowers out in blocks.

I think they both work well and taking away the colour makes you pick up on the detail of the form of the flowers, showing just how different they are from each other and just how special they are.
